What would cause a civil war in America?

  • I mean the civil war was a huge catalyst. Some say politics would be a big enough of a catalyst but it seems sometimes as though the rift in america is growing and the unbridgeable gap is widening between its population.


  • I guess the idiots that wan't to assassinate Obama. If he is assassinated, there will be riots and war between blacks and whites.

  • The civil war wasn't about slavery. The idea of slavery was brought into it after the war started. The next Catalyst will be the growing welfare state of our union. Pretty soon there won't be enough people paying into the tax coffers to keep up with demand on the welfare system. Just like the social security system is going to go through in 10 or 15 years.


  • Red vs. Blue would be enough in the coming years to the country torn apart. Both sides are unwilling to give up on any position and gridlock is the norm. Plus, both sides have a vested interest in seeing the other torn down.

    I do believe Dems would rather see the defeat of Republicans over Al Qaeda.


  • If the government were to suddenly seize everyone's 401k's and private retirement funds. This would cause a huge class warfare between those who have saved for retirement and those who haven't. It would get ugly real fast.

    Banning firearms with a supreme court decision that the second amendment does not refer to personal arms.
