If given the choice, would you rather go to heaven or live on Earth forever with eternal life?

  • Our soul's fulfillment is eternal life with The Creator....

  • Provided that along with eternal life that Earth is perfected then Earth: The Christian representation of Heaven sounds excruciatingly painful.

  • HEAVEN IS MINE DESTINATIION, HONEYBUN

I WILL GET A GOLD PLATED IROB WITH AN IRONIN BOARD WITH VELVET SCORTCH PADS

I KNOW I WILL HAVE AN ENDLESS SUPPLY OF NIAGRA STARCH UND THE ELECTRICAL OUTLETS WILL BE UP TO CODE

    WHO NEED VIOLTAGE>

    I GOT AMPS!

  • Heaven, because you are the only one will remain on earth since everybody dies, except you... heaven you can meet all the one you love and better than earth.... you can ask for anything.....on earth, you have to earn (work) for it to have it....but heaven, on the other hand, is 100.00% free

  • I prefer non-existence but if I had to choose between those two then I'd take heaven.

  • On the New Earth like the bible says his true worshippers will be!

  • I want nothing whatever to do with eternal life. Frankly, I'd really rather simply die when my life is over -- just like every other living thing that has evolved on Earth.

Objective reality is far too valuable to be foolishly sacrificed to Christianity's imaginary God(s), especially at the cost of Truth and intellectual integrity. The physical realm is the basis of the only reality ever proved to actually exist. Educated Humans now appreciate their own subjective mental experiences are simply not the basis of reality and that what we imagine in our mind's eye really has very little to do with objective reality. It is our living brain, not St. Augustine's hypothetical immortal human soul which actually allows human beings to be both fully conscious and self-aware. When our brain dies, so do we -- forever. I prefer to live and die exactly like my ancestors, exactly as Nature intends.

  • I would not mind living on earth as long as God would let us have mystical creatures like elves and fairies.

  • I'll stay right here, thank you. Can you imagine running around heaven for eternity doing nothing but saying, Yeah God. Go God, You're the greatest god, God.

  • I'd like to live to a good age and then die peacefully. Forever on Earth seems to be a punishment to me. I wouldn't mind being reincarnated though.

  • Earth (by which I mean the physical world) because life would be limitless and we could expand on space exploration, also I would be in control of my own life, not under the rule of a god.

  • If given a choice, I would rather secure a place for the children, here and there, it is not just about "us", it is about what we do towards their future.

  • I don't believe there is a heaven .. So .. Eternal life is the only option i guess

  • I don't want an eternal life. I'm comfortable knowing that the time I have right now is all the time I'm going to have.

  • If you read the Bible, you will discover that Christians get both options. At the end of Revelation, "heaven" is moved to earth, and God's throne is set up in the city of Jerusalem. Chrsitans have access to both the physical earth and the spiritual realm of heaven form there, and probably to the rest of the physical universe. That is one reason it is so large. We have all eternity to explore it.

It is not an "either/or" but a "both" situation.

  • Earth, too many religious pricks in heaven.

  • Heaven, where we will experience the "new" earth.

  • Earth. Any explanation of heaven I've heard does not seem that I would be me anymore.

  • Heaven

  • Heaven of course

  • Immortality is interesting, but it would depend.
What age would i remain ?
Would I always be healthy ?
How would I get away with it - new social security cards, identities, etc...

If it came down to it though, one couldn't really pass up on Heaven now, can they ?

  • I don't want eternal life, so neither.

  • I'd much prefer to go to Heaven. If you're going to life forever, you'll have to contend with the pains and difficulties of supporting yourself.

  • I'd take eternal life on planet Earth.

At least things change HERE, while in Heaven they'd be the same for eternity.

This is why I wrote in a published journal dealing with High Philosophy, not High Times e.g. the following: "Eternal life even in Heaven would eventually become as hellish or worse than in Hell itself, because boredom can cause a type of suffering that evenutally can exceed any type of pain!"

Yes, God gives us a great Devil Vs. Deep Blue Sea opportunity [if you buy Christian mumbo-jumbo]:

    Eternal Suffering in Hell

    Vs.

    Eternal Boredom in Heaven

[Who could stand the agony of listening to millions of stupid angels nonstop, day and night, singing the same phrase over and over and over again ad nauseam "Holy Holy Holy Art Thou Lord"

This would be like the principle of the Chinese Water Torture.

Listening to Beethoven's 9th is a taste of Heaven.

To listen to it nonstop day and night for even ONE week would be torture!

But to listen to stupid asexual angels singing the same malarkey day and night for eternity would be worse than hell, where at least there might be some new things going on, besides who says the Devil's realm would necessary suck anyway.

If you were ruler of Hell and had thousands of years and had many allies and were a really smart fellow, I think in this time, you could have turned Hell into a vacation resort and casino to top anything they have Upstairs!

However, to be safe, I'd take my chances HERE on Earth.

But if I really had total choice, I'd choose Oblivion [cessation of existence, annihilation] rather than eternal life ANYWHERE in any Condition or State of existence.

More life I might go for, but eternal life would eventually end up an eternal nightmare.

Some morons babble BS about eternal life without the brain to comprehend eternity as I can, a mathematician.

Imagine. You've existed for a Googol years in Heaven listening to the angels singing nonstop day and night, and always bright and the streets gaudily and meretriciously paved with Gold [instead of Gold used for a more intelligent purpose].

Question: What percent of Eternity have you existed?

    Solution:

Eternity = Infinite Duration of Time or Infinite Time

    10^100 = N% of INFINITY?

Answer: INFINITY cannot be affected by division by a finite number.

Hence, even a Googol years or an even larger number like a Centillion years [or 10^303 (European 10^600)] would be 0% of Eternity.

Here's a nicer problem I pose to my philosophy and math students.

Given all eternity and a means of instantaneous travel, how long woud it take to explore an Infinite Multi-Verse?

This trick question is to test if any student is actually idiotic enough to try to answer it mathematically.

Answer: Even given eternity you could never explore infinite space.

You'd never reach the end of EITHER. They are equal but not divisible!

Here's one for the math wiz out there esp. those who think Newton's concept of the infinitessimal number has no logical validity [when it does!].

What is the answer to 1/INFINITY?

Well it can't be 0, it has to be SOMETHING, but what?

No matter how low a decimal I create like .00000.....a trillion zeroes...then a 1, it's still TOO BIG!

Hence 1 or any finite number divided by INFINITY is an INFINITESSIMAL number.

The conceptof the Infinitessimal is no more ridiculous and is just as important and useful as Infinity.

Neither can be expressed algebraically as they are not really numbers at all but more a concept involving numbers, as the concept eternity is a useful concept involving time but is not TIME itself.

Infinite is like Irrational or Ordinal. Not a number in se but a concept about certain types of numbers or their qualities.

Irrational is a class of numbers.
Infinity is defined as a number greater than which none exist!
Infinitessimal is defined as a number greater than zero, but less than which no number exists!
Eternity is defined as an extent of time which cannot be exceeded or even REACHED!

A transfinite number is a higher order of Infinity which contains more MEMBERS than a lower order, yet each are equally infinite.

Very simple. I wonder how this one was so amazing or hard to understand?

Take the positive integers starting with 0, 1, 2,3 to infinity.
Compare with the negative integers negative infintiy..-3,-2,-1,0.

Now take the set of ALL integers negative AND positive.

It's easy to see that the Set of ALL Integers transcends the Set of ALL Positive or Negative Integers as it has MORE members.

    It is transfinite!

If the set of all positive intergers were to be compared it'd be classed as Aleph Null.
The set of ALL Integers would be Aleph Prime, a higher order infinity!.

The two rather go together like hand in glove!

  • Suicide perhaps.

Honestly neither sound appealing to me.

  • Heaven, there's no peace on Earth.

  • heaven as in only a few billion years the earth will be destroyed by the sun (or a meteor). and even though a billion sounds like allot it along way off Infinity. so have fun floating in space... or a BLACK HOLE

  • if its on earth with a bunch of Jehovahs witnesses, then i would choose heaven.

  • Between the two, earth, but I would prefer to not live forever.

  • a known devil is better than an unknown angel. I would prefer living on earth with whom i am very familiar. Heaven is only in papers.

  • if life after death is real, i'm going to stick around here for a while.
i'm not moving on without my family.
